Ohio man facing felony charges due to multiple OVI offenses

One man in Ohio may be looking to determine what legal options best suit his circumstances after recently being taken into custody. It was reported that the man has multiple OVI offenses and was arrested on his seventh alleged offense in the last 14 years. Reports stated that authorities were alerted to a hit-and-run accident after a driver apparently crashed into a road sign.

Police purportedly followed a trail of antifreeze that allegedly led them to a broken-down vehicle. The driver of that vehicle was reportedly exiting the car when an officer arrived. The man allegedly had slurred speech and was having trouble standing at the time. He also purportedly stated that he had consumed beers before the accident.

The man apparently did not wish to participate in sobriety tests, but he did submit to a breath test. The results of that test allegedly indicated that the driver's blood-alcohol level was .223 percent. As a result of the situation, the man was taken into custody and charged with felony OVI. His bond was set at $15,000, and if he is able to make that bond, he would be required to wear an alcohol ankle monitor.

The man will likely want to defend against the felony charges that have been leveled against him due to his multiple OVI offenses. Information on Ohio criminal proceedings may help him better understand his options and what he is likely to face as his case proceeds. Discussing his predicament with an experienced defense attorney may also help him determine how he would like to move forward.
