Helping Interstate 74 Accident Victims

Interstate 74 does not run through Ohio for a long distance — only 20 miles — but it hosts a disproportionate number of auto accidents. Every year, people are killed and seriously injured in I-74 crashes in the Cincinnati area.

There are many causes of Interstate 74 collisions:

  • Construction
  • Traffic backups
  • Drunk driving
  • Distracted driving
  • Icy underpasses
  • Out-of-state drivers

If you or a family member was seriously hurt on I-74, I-75 or I-71 and someone else was at fault, you need to speak with an experienced attorney to assess your options. Auto insurers will try to get you to quickly settle your claim, but it may leave you grossly undercompensated for what you are entitled to under Ohio law.

The Ohio interstate accident lawyers at Rittgers Rittgers & Nakajima are experienced in helping truck and car crash victims. We can help you recover compensation for the total harm you suffered. For a consultation with one of our attorneys, call 513-496-0134 or email us.

Noteworthy I-74 Accidents

A tractor-trailer hauling cans of lemonade crashed on I-74 in Cincinnati on Aug. 29, 2013. The allegedly intoxicated trucker lost control of his semi on I-74 East, close to Montana Avenue, and it overturned on the side of the interstate. Remarkably, nobody was killed and the truck driver escaped with minor injuries. Police charged him with operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OVI).

A motorcyclist and his passenger died in an I-74 crash occurring on Aug. 14, 2013. A fellow biker struck the victim’s motorcycle, causing the fatal accident, but he fled the scene. Police identified speed and alcohol as factors in the interstate motorcycle accident. While the crash occurred in Hamilton County, Indiana — not Ohio — it is consistent with I-74 bike wrecks that frequently happen in the Buckeye State.

An Ohio couple narrowly survived an I-74 West accident when their pickup left the interstate. The husband was drowsy or distracted when he allowed his pickup truck to leave the freeway; he overcorrected before veering across both lanes and crashing into a guardrail. Fortunately, both the driver and his wife were wearing seat belts.
