Bartender in court for role in drunk driving wrongful death

On Nov. 10, a bartender implicated in providing alcohol to a drunk driver made an appearance in Ohio's Hamilton County Municipal Court. On July 22, an elderly Indiana couple died as the result of a multi-car accident in Warren County, Ohio. Officials with the Ohio State Highway Patrol say that the accident happened at about 2:00 p.m. near an intersection in Clearcreek Township. It was at that intersection between Township Line Road and State Route 73 where police say a woman driving a 2005 Hyundai failed to stop at a stop sign and then struck a flatbed lumber truck.

Fatal truck accident claims life of former Ohio State professor

A former Ohio State University professor died on June 3 while driving back from viewing the Princess Diana exhibit in Cincinnati. According to a spokesperson with the Ohio State Patrol, the 63-year-old woman's car was struck from behind as she was slowing down along with other motorists near the site of a previous accident.

A 29-year-old man recently struck a deal with prosecutors which now means that he will serve only 17 months for his role in a fatal 2013 car crash. Coshocton County deputies say an SUV driven by the defendant was travelling in excess of 60 mph after its brakes failed and it plowed into a Toyota Prius, striking in on its passenger side, killing a 68-year-old woman and seriously injuring her 72-year-old husband.

8 years for Ohio man in fatal car accident

Emotions were running high recently in a Youngstown, Ohio, courtroom as the mother of a young man killed in a fatal hit-and-run accident addressed the court with her prepared statement. The woman's son, a 23-year-old semi-pro football player was killed after the defendant struck him with a rental car he had borrowed and then later tried to repair the damage he had caused.
