In 2018, Matt and his client had a top offer of $20,000 from a large insurance company after a shoulder tear injury. He, his co-counsel, and his client refused the offer and went to a jury trial. The verdict was $1,028,317 and one of the largest for a non-death case in the history of Campbell County, Kentucky. Matt, along with Kyle Salyer, successfully pursued the company on a bad faith action following the verdict.
