Biography
Jake Cropper is a trial lawyer known for taking on difficult cases and refusing to let insurance companies minimize the lives and injuries of his clients. Since 2024 alone, Jake has recovered more than $40 million in settlements and verdicts for injured people and families.
Jake represents clients in serious injury and wrongful death cases involving truck crashes, unsafe property conditions, dram shop liability, dog attacks, and other catastrophic injuries. He has helped resolve cases for $11.25 million, $11 million, $6 million, $4 million, $1.25 million, $1 million, and $1 million—results that provided stability, security, and accountability when clients needed it most.
One case best captures how Jake approaches his work. In 2025, he and co-counsel Lindsay Lawrence took a premises-liability wrongful death case to trial after the defense offered just $37,500 for the life of a 96-year-old, legally blind woman who fell from a nursing home window. Jake believed that offer was an insult to the woman and her family—and he refused to accept it. After two weeks in court, the jury returned a $3 million verdict, holding the nursing home accountable and delivering justice that the family had been denied.
Jake is also known for taking on cases where insurance companies try to blame the injured person. He has secured six- and seven-figure recoveries in heavily contested comparative-fault cases, including $1 million for a pedestrian struck while crossing the street on a dark, rainy night; $750,000 for a bicyclist accused of causing his own injuries; and $650,000 for a pregnant woman hit in a crosswalk after the insurer claimed she crossed against the signal. In each case, Jake exposed the flaws in the defense’s narrative and forced them to take responsibility.
What truly sets Jake apart is how personally he treats every client. He listens. He takes the time to understand what they are going through. Jake believes strong results come from real connection—because juries respond to truth, and truth comes from fully understanding a client’s story.
Jake’s empathy is rooted in his upbringing. His mother was a public-school teacher and union leader who taught him the importance of standing up for others. His work ethic comes from his background as a former college basketball player who grew up on a tobacco farm and spent summers working construction, pouring concrete and framing houses. He understands hard work, perseverance, and sacrifice—values that guide every case he handles.
For those facing life-altering injuries or the loss of a loved one, Jake brings not only elite legal skill, but open communication, trust, and genuine commitment. He fights to make sure his clients are treated with dignity, respect, and empathy—from the first call to the final verdict.
If you or someone you love has been seriously injured, you don’t have to face this alone. Call Jake to understand your options, what comes next, and how he can help—without pressure or obligation.
