Gus is a trial lawyer that is more than willing to take the tough cases to trial, but who also appreciates the importance of negotiation.  Gus has personally taken 10 jury trials to verdict and has handled countless bench trials and contested hearings.  As a former prosecutor, Gus can target the strengths and weaknesses of a case from all sides.  At the same time, Gus takes great pride in his well-established university discipline practice, where he advises students dealing with Title IX hearings and other university discipline proceedings.

Prior to joining Rittgers & Rittgers, Gus worked as a Trial Lawyer at Haughey & Niehaus LLC for many years (which eventually merged into Rittgers & Rittgers). Gus has also served as an extern for the Honorable Judge Walter Rice of the Federal Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

Gus was born in Hamilton, OH, but grew up primarily in Maineville, OH, where he graduated Valedictorian from Kings High School. After high school, Gus graduated from Miami University where he attended on a full academic scholarship. While at Miami, Gus earned numerous awards as a member of the renowned Miami University Mock Trial Team. These awards culminated in Gus achieving the status of "All-American Attorney" from the American Mock Trial Association.  Finally, Gus graduated from The Mortiz College of Law at The Ohio State University, where he received the George A. Speigelberg Award for the Nation's Top Oral Advocate from the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Aside from the practice, Gus coached the high-caliber, 2018 National Champion (#1 of 713) Miami University Mock Trial Team, where he helped train the next generation of trial lawyers.  Gus is currently a member of the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Ohio State Bar Association, Cincinnati Bar Association, and Butler County Bar Association.

Gus lives in Cincinnati, OH, and is a Board Member of the Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
